The Sri Lankan Peacock

Peacocks are large pheasants known for their coloured iridescent tails. These tail feathers spread out in a distinctive train that is more than 60% of the bird’s total body length, and boast beautiful "eye" markings of blue, gold, red, and other hues. I was lucky enough to witness these mating rituals in Yala National Park in February of this year (2013), it really is a treat to the eyes and an encounter I shall not forget easily.
Although I would not normally post single shots like this, I have been after this shot for years and so deem it worthy.
